Birthday Celebrations

As many of you know Ben and Brooke have birthdays a day apart and of course neither of them want to share their birthday,so we have to make sure and let them each have their own birthday.

This year for Ben's birthday, he chose to go to the monster truck show with Jaime for his gift, he had a blast and came home with lots of videos on his camera and some new toys and flags. His birthday actually fell on Sunday so he had to go to church, then afterwards we surprised him with one last gift, we got him a new bike which made his day. We always let the kids choose what they want to eat for their birthday dinner, this year he chose tacos, orange jello salad, pop-tarts and grape juice, then we had cake and ice cream.

He was happy!

Now for Brooke's birthday, she gave us a whole list of stuff she wanted for her birthday and not one thing on her list was girly at all, she wanted a transformers bike helmet, fishing stuff, headphones and 3 pumpkin pies. She pretty much got everything on her list including some really cute pj's that she refuses to wear because the monkey on the pj's has a tutu on and she doesn't want to wear anything that looks girly. For her dinner Brooke chose to go to McDonalds, and then we had pumpkin pie for desert.

DESERT!!

This year the kids had a special visitor come for the weekend of their birthdays, Uncle Jeff and his family came and so did Grandpa and the kids had a great time seeing them and playing with them. In fact they are now wanting to go to Utah to play with the rest of their cousins. As hard as it is to have their birthdays so close together, it is always nice to have them done and over with all at once.

Now I need to inform you of one of the gifts that Brooke got from my mom (grandma Chickaboo). She wanted to get her a fishing vest for her birthday and she found this really neat vest in the toy department that she decided would work, well it is a backyard safari vest. Brooke absolutely loves this vest, she calls it her "reshearching vest" and after we got home from mom's she started making plans with her vest, which pocket her gps would go in, which pocket her compass would go in and then there was the hey mom I need one of these things (a magnifying glass) to look at the bugs with. She started telling me she needed to go to Carolyn's to reshearch. She even fell asleep in it that night. She still loves that vest and she now has a magnifying glass for it, a whistle with a compass and thermometer and she has her powerbait in it to catch her fish. I think she is ready to go "reshearching!!"
