More Brooke

I am always amazed at the stuff that Brooke comes up with, from chocolate makes my mom's butt fat to needing a cell phone because she needs to make a call. But her latest little story really makes me laugh and touches my heart. Let me give you a little preface to this latest story, last August our babysitter lost her mother to cancer, this wonderful lady had become a grandmother to my children and they even referred to her as Grandma Higley. She is well aware that Grandma Higley is in heaven and that she is with Jesus and is very happy. Well at the first of the year one of my uncles died and she was able to come with me to attend the funeral. She never really knew my uncle, but she is also very well aware that he was important to me and that he is in heaven with Jesus and is happy also. So after we returned from the funeral we just continued life as normal, but Brooke's mind is a little different from the rest of ours. As Brooke was talking with Cindy (the babysitter) one day out of the blue she tells Cindy, "My Uncle that is in heaven is going to kill an elk and Grandma Higley is going to cook elk steaks for him to eat." She was dead serious. She has left me speechless so many times, but for her to be thinking of people in heaven and worrying about what they are doing just blows me away. How can you not love this kid!!
