By the time Halloween got here the kids could hardly wait Ben kept asking all day long "when can I get in my costume" and "is it time yet?" He was so funny as he was waiting for time to come he actually fell asleep on the couch which was nice because the house was peaceful for a little bit!!
So at 5:00 I let them start getting ready, Kylee had pretty much been wearing her costume all day so she was ready in nothing flat. Ben was still undecided on what to be he had his spiderman costume from last year and a Koala Bear from this year. He said he didn't want to get the Koala dirty so he would just wear the spiderman. However Ifound a couple of holes in the spiderman costume so he decided the Koala would be alright. Now Brooke was quite the handful getting dressed. She was our little witch and she wanted to wear her dress all week, but when it came time for her to get it on she didn't want it on. And I know many of you know how hard it is to get a kid dressed when they don't want to. Well this was that moment for us. After she got it on she kept saying "pretty witch" and we thought she was pretty darn cute.
When we finally got to our first destination of the night the kids could hardly wait to get started. Brooke wasn't so sure as to what was going on, but after we hit the first couple of trunks she was hooked. From then on she would walk up to the people flash her little smile and open her bag or help herself if the bowl was low enough for her. By the end of the trunks she was cutting in front of people to get her candy.
When she was done I put her in the back of the car to sit and wait and while she was waiting we caught her sticking her hand into our pot and filling her bag with candy. When we finally saw it and said something to her she just looked at us smiled and continued filling her bag. She did get a little scare in her whole process though. At one point she dropped her bag and it was falling out of the car as dad was getting it we looked at her and she was just shaking it was so funny after she got her bag back she was fine.
So on to our next stop Aunt Shawn's we get there and Kylee and Ben pile out. Poor little Brooke has to wait for someone to get her out and she can hardly wait. We head in and she does her little strut while she carries her bag. She gets inside and immediately wants her candy. Aunt Shawn gives it to her, but she continues to look for more. She poses for a couple of pictures and then we head on our way.
To the college to see Grandma Anderson. By now Brooke's bag is getting pretty heavy, with all her added candy! So as we are going in we ask her if we can carry her bag and the first thing out of her mouth is NO and she takes of running. It was so fun to watch her. She got in got her little bag from Grandma and of course was looking for more and Grandma pulls out the extra bucket, well there is Brooke grabbing as much as her little hand will hold and filling her bag. Then to make her day even better Grandma gave her some to eat right away.
So now we are off to Cindy's by now her bag is being drug on the ground because it is now to heavy for her to just hold so she opts to drag it. We ask to help her and she says NO. So in we go and of course she is the first one to the candy and she just grabs. Then Cindy is all to kind and opens her some to eat. Well she ouldn't put her bag down, so watching her eat and drag a bag was pretty fun.
Now to our last stop Grandma and Grandpa Tolman. By now me and Jaime are ready to be done so it is a good thing it is our last stop. Brooke can no longer carry her bag now and we don't want to put a hole in it so Jaime carries her while she carries her bag. She gets inside and Grandma has special candy for them, but she stops at the pot for the other trick-or-treaters and starts filling up again. Then she gets her loot from Grandma and heads back to the other pot and takes a treat to Grandpa and of course he opens it up for her. By now she is pretty tired and doesn't even have enough energy left for a cute picture for Grandma, but they enjoyed watching her protect her bag of candy.
So now we head home to eat our dinner and watch Indiana Jones. As soon as we are in the house they all start digging through their bags and guess who is in the middle stealing candy from the big kids!! Yep Brooke didn't dump her bag to check it out, she just wandered around looking through Ben and Kylee's and taking their stuff!!
And just as a side note with all the candy Brooke had eaten while we were out she did eat a full piece of pizza after we got home!! After that though she kept asking for more candy!!
We hope you all had a wonderful Halloween!

You guys definitely had an eventful Halloween. I really wish I could've seen Brooke in all her stubbornness when it came to the candy bag!!!
She really was cute. I expected her to be a little frightened when she saw me but she just came in and expected candy. Funny, she got what she wanted. I did give her some water and she backwashed into my bottle so I had to dump it out!YUCKKK I am glad you had a good time this year. Wait until next year, she will be a little taller and will be able to carry that bag a little better.
