4th of July

Our family never plans anything big for the 4th, I'm not a big fan of crowds so we just find something to do close to home. This year was no different, we planned on going fishing for a couple hours and then maybe going for a ride to the mountains and finding a few caches. Well we ended up fishing longer than we had planned and so when we got home we just rested so we could do fireworks in the evening. We talked to a member of our ward about fishing on his farm and he set us up good, he has some pretty good holes out there and we can hardly wait to go back. Everyone was able to catch at least one fish and Brooke caught her very first fish all by herself. She was so cute, we were packing up all our stuff and she just kept casting and she told us she had a fish, but we had been getting snags in that area so we figured it was another snag, but as Jaime was putting his fish back in the river (Brooke was still reeling) we saw a fish jump right in front of Brooke, so then we figured she really had a fish, so Jaime went over to check on her and she tried giving him her pole so he could reel it in, but he made her do it. She was so proud of herself and after that she didn't want to quit fishing, but after being out there for 5 hours we told her we had to go and that we would bring her back out another time. She has told her story to everyone that will listen and for some reason it keeps getting better and better!!

Ben's fish, I was really nice and had one on and let him reel it in, it was really hard for me to do that because I wanted to catch the most fish. I'm just a little competitive.

Oh and just for the record I caught the biggest bass for the day and Jaime caught the only catfish. We couldn't have asked for a better day.
